Saturday Night
In the 90 minutes leading up to the first ever episode of Saturday Night Live in 1975, producer Lorne Michaels battles against a swathe of challenges to get the unknown and untested conceptual nightmare of a show onto TV at 11:30pm. Personalities, egos, creative differences and unloved muppets are just the start of the challenges that they face.
Welcome back to The Periodic Table of Awesome for 2025 folks, in this live unscripted production, the Role of Dion will be played by Chevy Chase, Jill will be played by the Muppet Janice, Peta will be played by the Ghost of George Carlin and Quinny will be portrayed by Burl Ive’s prosthetic penis.
Synopsis
Tensions run high as producer Lorne Michaels and a ferocious troupe of young comedians and writers prepare for the first broadcast of “Saturday Night Live” on Oct. 11, 1975.
