Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story
occasionally a single interpretation of a character becomes so indelibly linked to that character, that the world will be unable to see it as anyone else for potentially generations. These performances become iconic, embedded into the fabric of our reality. For many Moses will always look like Charlton Heston, God will sound like Morgan Freeman and Dorothy will always Be Judy Garland.
So to will Superman always be Christopher Reeve. Nearly 50 years on he is still intrinsically tied to the part. And even though his later life was changed by a tragic accident, he still embodied the spirit of a hero throughout. This documentary explores his life, his challenges and unpacks what made him a hero for so many.
Due to Jill being the only person who caught the film this episode also includes reviews of two other films:
Nightbitch: Starring Amy Adams – in which a new mother tries to cope with motherhood and also at night becomes a dog.
and
Lee: Starring Kate Winslet – Based on a true story of Lee Miller a model turned photographer who then turned her lens onto the human face of suffering in World War 2.
