TPToA Podcast 269 – Station Eleven

In this week’s show it’s Dion’s choice and he’s gone for the post-apocalyptic, post-pandemic, post-modern mini-series about “How theatre kids will survive at the end of the world…” or as it’s more commonly known “Station Eleven”. Based on the 2014 novel of the same name, it’s a strangely charming and uplifting take on the death of billions of people.

Jill and Quinny are the folks who haven’t done all the homework this week, and as such there’s a section of Spoilers at the end that is one man, our beloved Dion, talking to himself… it’s great!

A huge thank you apocalyptic survivors joining in on the live-chat during the Twitch stream this week (and every week!) each Tuesday night. If you haven’t done so before, walk alongside our cart at 7:30pm next Tuesday to join in on the discussion.

A bold series that re-imagines the apocalypse as a slightly nicer place.

Post-Pandemic
It's a beautiful and gentle story that has a lot of pain and death
Ideas driven sci-fi which has the strength of its convictions to tell its tale
Its nice being in an apocalypse that isn't depressing
Pre-Apocalypse
You could get caught up in the first episode and go no further.
It feels derivative of many other stories of it's ilk
the pandemic storyline may be a tough watch for many.
