TPToA Podcast 225 – In The Heights

Sound up on this little round-up of a musical, a syncopated, highly-rated, long awaited slice of beautiful. Taking cues from the stage, off the page from Lin Miranda’s pen. To the screen, widely seen there and back again.

Sorry, we won’t bore you all by doing this in rhyme, hell, you know the truth it doesn’t work even half the time… especially if you’re not Lin Manuel Miranda…

Q and Peta match wits, sing the hits and love librettos, while D and Jill are getting down, being clowns, packing grounds and pouring ristrettos. (Thats a coffee gag)

Paciencia y Fe!

A huge shout-out to all the peoples of our own little barrio, who have made their voices heard and kicked up their heels in the live-chat during the Twitch stream, each Tuesday night at 7:30pm AEST. Paciencia Y Fe! it was worth the wait!
The kind of summery, all singing, all dancing explosion of passion and excitement that we really need around about now. Great songs and a bunch of loveable characters.

Great Music and some really wonderful choreography with SO much energy!
Talented and engaging cast who feel authentic.
Additions and subtractions to the story from the stage show are mostly good
Mr Softee's icecream
The magical realism sections are great but leave you wanting more.
some of the more "stagey" elements feel overplayed and hammy on screen
Abuela Claudia needed another song. she was too good for the one.
